At St. Teresa’s Catholic Primary School, we believe that learning goes far beyond the classroom walls. This term, pupils embraced experiential learning, gaining confidence, independence, and curiosity through real-world experiences.

Our Year 6 pupils spent three unforgettable days at Derwent Hill, taking part in thrilling activities such as climbing sessions, mountain hikes, ghyll scrambling, and the giant swing. Each challenge encouraged children to try something new, support one another, and believe in themselves. Evening team challenges strengthened friendships and created memories that will last a lifetime.

Meanwhile, Key Stage 1 pupils enjoyed a fantastic visit to Preston Park, where they explored museum exhibits, Victorian displays, and wildlife areas. Hands-on experiences brought history and nature to life, as pupils handled artefacts, discovered new environments, and returned eager to share their learning.

Both experiences reminded us that learning happens everywhere – outdoors, in museums, and in moments of discovery. These opportunities not only build knowledge but also nurture resilience, teamwork, and a lifelong love of learning.
